We are seeking a Planning Specialist responsible for coordinating the transportation planning process for parcel shipments from a diversified set of origin points. The Planning Specialist will be the main point of contact for TONU (Truck Order Not Used) processing and will track and trace parcel shipments using internet, phone, and email communications. The Planning Specialist supports both carriers and customers on a daily basis to ensure operational excellence.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Create TONU (Truck Order Not Used) orders
  • Enter primary coding for shipments not meeting our planning guidelines
  • Plan parcel shipments
  • Identify trends from errors and report to DSC leaders and Analysts so future errors are avoided
  • Escalate problem to DSC leaders timely to prevent a larger problem developing
  • Identify and act on hot loads for customers, understanding the customer’s need and finding a solution to make their critical deadline
  • Provide daily summary of open issues.
  • May be required to be on call and work as part of a Saturday rotation

Job Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrated competency in MS Office and Google applications

Preferred

  • 1 year of professional experience or related training
  • Bachelor’s degree with specialization in Logistics, Transportation or Supply Chain Management
  • Experience working in a transportation management system (TMS)
