We are currently seeking a business driven, hands-on manager at our Duluth, GA transportation office. If you are a results oriented leader who has a passion for building a growing a business, this role may be right for you.

Position Overview

The Manager, Regional Fleet Operations will be a key leader and change agent by building an operationally excellent regional fleet business to support DSC Logistics' anticipated growth in this area for our existing customer base. The Manager, Regional Fleet Operations will be responsible for all aspects of this exciting start-up including design of the operations, continual improvement and efficiencies and full P&L management.

Position Responsibilities

  • Operations Management. Lead the daily on site operations to achieve agreed upon business goals including key customer initiatives. Set up systems and processes to deliver exceptional solutions for our customers. Develop and communicate KPIs and metrics to measure performance and assess opportunities. Drive operational efficiency by managing equipment and workflow, efficient driver schedules and optimizing capacity. Ensure compliance with US DOT laws and regulations. Develops and manages relationships with key vendors.
  • Financial Management. Understand P&L drivers and implement plans to achieve financial results. Manage the fleet profitably by finding ways to improve services, increase the customer base and reduce costs. Develop strategies for greater fuel efficiency and make lease versus buy recommendations. Participate in customer meetings and negotiations and internal financial reviews. Negotiate rates, terms and conditions with suppliers.
  • People Management. Manage and lead the team of dispatchers, drivers and support staff. Drive positive business results by building an engaged team and workforce. Collaborate with Human Resources in the recruitment of drivers and create an environment that sustains employee morale, commitment and retention.

Job Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 years of experience in fleet operations
  • Skills in leadership, communication and financial management
  • Proven safety focus

Preferred

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications including Excel
  • Experience using routing and load optimizing software
  • Quantitative thinking skills
