Job Description

Position Overview

Reporting to the Director of Total Rewards, this position will conduct analysis on internal and external salary statistics. Based on the information collected, the analyst will assist in the development and implementation of an appropriate employee compensation structure. This structuring involves recommending pay grades and evaluating new employee titles and ongoing reclassification. Compensation analyst also might create and apply employee incentive plans to maintain and attract talent.

Key Job Responsibilities

Compensation Administration

  • Evaluate positions for job level, salary range and FLSA status. Analyze internal and external data to create competitive compensation recommendations. Present recommendations to Director for review and approval.
  • Manage 3rd party survey participation and analysis. Ensure data is accurate and available for use. Participate in and conduct salary surveys, completing market surveys and compiling data from published sources.
  • Participate in annual compensation projects and processes, including but not limited to; merit / annual increases, incentive plan administration, FLSA review, wage surveys, benchmarking, salary structure review and adjustments.
  • Administer compensation infrastructure, policies and programs to include market pricing/review and impact analysis. Assist in developing and/or implementing compensation structures.
  • Update, implement and test compensation related HRIS programs and processes required to ensure that all changes to DSC salary structures, grades, employee minimum base rate and market adjustments are successfully updated. Coordinate programming changes, testing and reporting requirements with the HRIS Analyst.
  • Implement and maintain tools and resources for HR and managers to aid in compensation administration.

Incentive Plan Administration

  • Determine employee eligibility in DSC’s incentive plans.
  • Administer incentive pay programs to ensure guidelines are followed per plan documentation.
  • Calculate or confirm incentive plan calculations and submit payments to Payroll on a monthly basis.
  • Maintain and update incentive plan documentation.

Company Support

  • Advise managers and employees on state and federal employment regulations, compensation policies, procedures and classification programs.
  • Facilitate internal communications regarding compensation initiatives.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent Human Resources Compensation experience required
  • 3 years of compensation experience in salary survey analysis and job description development and evaluation required
  • CCP Certification preferred
  • Strong analytical skills necessary to design and evaluate jobs and to proactively identify opportunities and take the initiative to find solutions
  • Strong professional and interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as a member of the Human Resources team
  • Self-starter who relies on extensive experience and judgement to planned and accomplished goal
  • Ability to maintain highly confidential information in a professional manner
  • Advance proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Preferred experience with Ultimate software (UltiPro)
